Supporting learners with additional needs

In some groups learners will have additional needs:

  • because of a learning difficulty or disability; and/or
  • because they require support with literacy, language and/or numeracy.

Many of these learners will want to take advantage of the same opportunities as other learners, and to feel like a fully paid-up member of society. Consult your Subject Learning Coach, your colleagues and other professionals about inclusive ways of teaching and learning.

As well as being part of the ethos of adult education, inclusion and accessibility is also a legal requirement.
