Court case

This is another role-play exercise designed for intermediate to advanced levels. It could follow Mystery or be used on its own. The activity contains a variety of different tasks for learners to undertake, based on a light-hearted article in the taught language about a crime (choose a minor one!). All four language skills are used; it is particularly suitable for practising the past tenses.

As with Mystery, you are urged to promote and celebrate diversity but also to be careful about the potential issues that might be raised and to avoid using situations that might offend learners' values and beliefs.

In this activity, tutors may need to be sensitive to the possible literacy, language and numeracy (LLN) needs of their learners.
