Step 6 - the golden rules
Revisit Step 2 and see if your confidence and understanding has grown. If you still have anxieties, discuss your needs for further Continuing professional development with your manager or Subject Learning Coach.
Remember, your aim is to improve your effectiveness as a tutor in tailoring sessions to meet learners' needs.
- Never give medical advice to learners.
- Where a learner presents a medical condition or health issue that you cannot readily identify or deal with, refer him or her for medical advice.
- Never attempt to diagnose injuries or conditions: do not assume a level of medical knowledge that you do not have.
The guidance given in this series of activities provides only pointers. If you have been unfamiliar with any of the content, or uncertain how to deal with any of the issues, you must seek Continuing professional development in consultation with your manager and your professional association.
